WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED AFTER A LASER HAIR REMOVAL PROCEDURE?

1. During the session it’s normal to feel some degree of discomfort in the form of burning sensation, tingling or mild pain.

2. Once the session is completed there may be some reddening of the area and that erythema can last for a day.

3. On occasions, if the hair is very thick most of the reddening occurs around the hair and that is known as perifollicular edema. This side-effect is transitory and indicates that the epilation has been effective.

4. After a few days, the dead hair being expulsed from the skin will emerge as black heads.

5. If the patient is prone to develop haematomas it is likely that he/she will also develop haematomas after one session. It is recommended not to take acetyl salicylic acid on the day of the session.

6. Photoepilation destroys the hair follicle and after one session there might be pustules caused by an infected follicle (folliculitis). This infection is cleared with the application of an antibiotic cream for two or three days.
